Put your bin out on the normal day during the bad weather

Where possible bin collection and recycling services are now operating across Sefton, but only where collections can be made safely.

Residents should put their bins and recycling boxes out on the normal day during the bad weather. Sefton Council will try to collect as soon as possible. This week only (w/c 11 Jan) you will be able to put out two black sacks in addition to the wheelie bin.

Sefton Council has issued the following statement on their website:

"Disruption to refuse collection service

"Please place out your refuse and recycling for collection on the normal day this week. If we cannot collect it safely on the normal day, we will attempt to collect it as soon as we can.

"For the week commencing 11th January 2010 only you will be able to place out up to 2 additional bags of non-recyclable waste alongside your grey wheelie bin. Any excess recyclable materials should be presented in carrier bags alongside the green box

"Please note the green wheelie bin collection remains suspended until 17th January 2010. Until then the green wheelie bin collection will be replaced by additional grey wheelie bin collections."
