Norwood Ward barbecue a great success

The Norwood Ward Lib Dem barbecue was a great success.

Southport Lib Dem members and friends had a great time at the Norwood Ward Barbecue last Saturday. The event was hosted by Pat and David Sumner and was a huge success. Over 60 people attended and a large sum was raised for ward funds. Even the rain kept away.

Everyone admired Pat and David's beautiful garden and enjoyed the stunning views over the West Lancashire countryside. While David slaved over the hot coals, Pat and her helpers kept the supplies of sausages, burgers, chicken and salad coming, not to mention the apple pie. Brian Rimmer ran the bar with his usual efficiency and Ronnie Fearn used his flair to ensure the Tombola sold out. Harry Wallworth was so successful in selling raffle tickets that he ran out of books and had to fetch an emergency supply.

All-in-all it was a great day and our thanks and gratitude go to Pat and David for all their hard work in making it happen. It was also good to see friends from Crosby come along to support us. Roll on next year!
