Liberal Democrat Manifesto 2005 - The Real Alternative

The 2005 Manifesto. Party members are invited to help write the next one.

Work has started on writing the Liberal Democrat manifesto for the next general election and Party members are asked to contribute their ideas. The manifesto team are seeking your comments on the big themes of the manifesto and on individual policy areas.

Manifesto Chair, Steve Webb MP, says "We have launched a major new dialogue with party members that will have a real impact on shaping our message for the next Westminster Election."

"I would like to encourage you to visit www.manifesto.libdems.org.uk and take part in a new kind of conversation about our policies and our priorities. You can join in discussions with other party members about our manifesto messages and on specific policy ideas."

"In particular you can help to shape policy ideas before final decisions are made, unlike the other parties who expect members to rubber stamp decisions that have already been taken."

"I will be taking an active interest in what goes on the site, reading it regularly, commenting on the discussion, and feeding it back to parliamentary colleagues and the policy team."

To access the site you need to have a Liberal Democrats Account (which is a username and password that works on a range of party sites, including the members only website, www.login.libdems.org.uk).

If you haven't registered for a Liberal Democrats Account before, just go to www.manifesto.libdems.org.uk and click on the "Create an account" button. This will take you through a couple of simple steps and then send you a confirmation email which you will need to respond to. When you have then got your username and password up and running, just return to the manifesto page and login.
